Sam Parsons

Sam Parsons was born, raised, and educated in Harare, Zimbabwe, and still considers herself an African at heart. After college, she was offered a much sought-after opportunity to work in the travel industry. She obtained her diploma, enabling her to sell local, regional, and international travel to both business and pleasure seekers. After that, Sam moved to South Africa to further her career, and she was able to travel the world extensively with her job. Sam then moved to London for two years, where she worked and continued to travel worldwide, visiting Europe, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada.

In 1995, Sam arrived on Nantucket for “the summer” and immediately fell in love with the island. Two years after arriving, she met her husband and made Nantucket her home. Professionally, she worked for eight years at the Nantucket Boat Basin and Nantucket Island Resorts, and for over three years as the Director of Membership Services at the exclusive Westmoor Club. In 2008, Sam joined Great Point Properties, bringing with her multiple years of experience working in the hospitality industry, and a database of satisfied clientele that she met along the way. Sam’s exceptional attention to detail and her knowledge and love of the island make her the perfect choice for buyers, sellers, and renters alike.

When she isn’t in the office, Sam enjoys walking, practicing yoga, traveling the world and exploring different cultures, reading, cooking, going to the beach, and especially spending time with family and friends. She has been on the committee for Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket (Hospice) for the past ten years and has been a tutor for the ESL program at the Nantucket Atheneum since 2008. Sam considers herself the luckiest person in the world to have landed on Nantucket almost 30 years ago and gets to call this fantastic island home.

Fun fact: Sam is extremely passionate about elephants, and supports many great organizations that do so much to protect them. She has visited the  Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, who are incredible angels on this earth and also loves Akashinga/ International Anti Poaching Foundation and  Big Life Africa who work tirelessly to protect African wildlife.
